Zogo

YoB: 2006

Breed: Murgese

Height: 15.2 HH

Gender: Stallion

About:  Zogo is an iconic and well-known jousting horse.  I acquired Zogo in December 2015 from another jouster who unfortunately had to retire.  Zogo is very confident, and really enjoys his job.  He gets excited in the lists before each joust, and certainly provides entertainment and excitement!  However, his real talent lies in the melee, where he excels. His conformation is of that of a typical medieval destrier; not too tall, very muscular and strong, but still with the nimbleness and flexibility to perform the advanced movements and have the manoeuvrability to be a strong contender in the melee.

Safio

YoB: 1999

Breed: Lusitano

Height: 16.1 HH

Gender: Gelding

About:  Safio is a very baroque, classical lusitano.  Bred in the centre of Portugal from a traditional yard, he embodies many of the traits of the historical Iberian horse.  He can be extremely hot and sharp, but I have partnered with him for many years and we know each other very well.  Safio really took to the historical work and has worked with me in dozens of performances at the riding house, Bolsover Castle.  From the technicalities of the work of William Cavendish, to the early medieval battlefield of Hastings, Safio has proven his worth time and again, and his ability to rise to different challenges. We previously competed Nationally at Working Equitation.

Quinto

YoB: 2014

Breed: Andalusian

Height: 16.2 HH

Gender: Stallion

About: Quinto is a recent addition to the team and was acquired from a stud not far from Seville.  The Cartujano horse is a direct descendant from the horses bred by Carthusian monks in the 15th Century, and the bocardo strain are have a particularly impressive lineage.  Quinto is a long-term project, and I hope to use him initially for competition and MCI dressage, where he is likely to do well.
